Morgan Chapel provides food for needy pets on the 2nd saturday of each month from 9AM-11AM.
When money gets tight, it becomes increasingly difficult to budget and prioritize our necessities. Our Food Pantry helps provide families with food, but pets are a very important part of our families as well. Folks will often sacrifice and give their scarce people food to their pets to make sure that they are okay.
The Pet Food Pantry understands how important our pets are to us, so we provide families with pet food for dogs and cats. While we primarily provide dry dog and cat food, we also get frequent donations of canned food and cat litter from the Maryland Food Bank; dog and cat toys from Petvalu in Mount Airy; and dog treats from Purina.
Our ministry currently serves an average of 40 families each month, out of more than 200 families registered with us. These families represent 491 cats and 310 dogs.
The Pet Food Pantry is open the second Saturday of each month from 9 am - 11 am in the church’s Fellowship Hall.
