Morgan Chapel local mission support touches many.

In addition to the food and pet pantry, Morgan Chapel participates in several other Woodbine-Sykesville area mission programs. It is also a member-church of E.S.C.A.P.E. Ministries, Inc.

E.S.C.A.P.E. is a community of member congregations that assist those in financial need in the Eldersburg/Sykesville area of Carroll County, Maryland.  The office is staffed by volunteers who take in the requests for assistance, and then process the payments, directly to the vendor, if the client is accepted.  The requests often come through the Carroll County Department of Social Services. Member church pastors have also referred clients. Clients are assisted once, every two years.

 Areas of need include electricity and water turn-offs, fuel oil, rental assistance and eviction prevention, as well as the occasional medical or automobile needs.  Food vouchers are often provided.  Bag lunches are provided, every Wednesday, at St. Paul’s UMC, in Sykesville.  Member congregations take turns providing the lunches.
