Each Sunday worship includes a blend of casual, modern and traditional themes.
Whether you have just moved to the neighborhood and are looking for a new church home or you haven't been in a church recently, you won't feel out of place in our worship service. A few people will be dressed up, but most will be wearing casual clothes. You won't feel out of place in jeans or a suit.
Morgan Chapel's worship services are designed to be simple to understand, the messages are practical and there are always examples so you can put that week's teachings into practice.
Our small, but growing, intergenerational congregation reflects a wide variety of faith histories and traditions. Some people you'll meet, have attended Morgan Chapel most of their lives. Others, have just recently begun to worship here. The congregation is inclusive and represents a wide spectrum of previous faith traditions.
We begin the service singing along with two or three contemporary praise chorus videos before transitioning to morning prayer, scriptures and a traditional hymn. You can follow along in the printed bulletin, hymnal or on the video screen where all announcements, congregational prayers and music lyrics are displayed.
All ages begin worship in the sanctuary at 10:15 Sunday mornings. Elementary and middle school-age students are invited to leave around 10:30 for age-appropriate Christian education classes. (Children are always welcome to stay through worship or join one of our Sunday School classes.) A worship service is typically about 60 minutes long.
In addition to the contemporary praise videos, a piano, organ or other instruments may provide music during the service. Several times each month, a soloist also provides an inspirational selection.
Our pastor likes to preach on the same level as the rest of the congregation and if he's not sitting on a stool in the front of the sanctuary, he will casually walk through the church while he's preaching. Sometimes highlights of his sermons are displayed on the video screen.
Visitors are invited to join us for a once a month fellowship potluck following the service. At other times, Rev. Jim welcomes the opportunity to meet visitors and answer any questions they have.
