Flood buckets, donations, volunteers support disaster response

The television and video images following a disaster are heartbreaking. Naturally we want to help, but we want to make sure our efforts reach the disaster survivors.

Morgan Chapel provides several levels of support:

• Special church offerings for the United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) following major disasters. One hundred percent of donations sent to UMCOOR are used to support immediate and long-term response.

• Flood buckets and hygiene kits are assembled by volunteers at Morgan Chapel  and delivered to the Church World Service warehouse in New Windsor so they can be sent to survivors when a disaster strikes.

• One of the most meaningful ways to respond to disasters is to volunteer for a mission team to help rebuild the lives of survivors. Our next mission trip will be next summer and it's not too early to volunteer.
