Food Pantry

The food pantry opens for the needy on the 2nd and 4th Saturday of each month from 9AM-11AM.

Food insecurity -- not having the resources to buy enough food to eat -- is a serious challenge for many families in our region. And even when Food Stamps are available, it often isn't enough to feed a family. That's where the Morgan Chapel Food Pantry steps in. Nearly 100 families each month come to the Morgan Chapel food pantry.

Food pantry volunteers provide canned goods, fresh meat, bakery items and fresh produce in season. Largely through a donation from the Four County Lions Club, supplies for breakfast and full Thanksgiving and Christmas meals are supplied during those holiday seasons.

In December, a Christmas party is held for the children of food pantry clients and when Santa arrives, he has wrapped gifts for each of the children.

The food that is distributed comes from the Maryland Food Bank and donations from local stories. Donations of unexpired, unopened canned or packaged food can be left inside the door at the rear of the church. Financial donations are always welcome.
