We have one service, held in the sanctuary, at 10:30 on Sundays.

Do you have to dress up to attend your worship service?

Not at all. Some do wear their “Sunday best” but you’re also likely to see someone in slacks and a casual shirt, or even jeans. Wear what helps you think more about Jesus and less about yourself  and what will help others do the same.

What kind of outreach is the church involved in?

Morgan Chapel is involved in many outreach ministries. One of our major activities is the Food & Pet Pantry which helps feed over 40 families and pets twice a month. Morgan Chapel has partnered with the Maryland Food Bank, a nonprofit hunger-relief organization, leading the movement to end hunger throughout Maryland. We also have a health ministry and participate in several Woodbine-Sykesville area mission programs. We are also a member of E.S.C.A.P.E ministries. E.S.C.A.P.E. stands for “Enabling Social and Church Advocacy for People Enrichment”.

Where is guest parking?

We have a parking lot located in front of the social hall. There is additional parking around the back and side of the church.

Is the church handicap accessible?

Yes. There is a ramp located on the cemetery side of the church closest to Woodbine Road. Park in the grassy area near the ramp. The public areas of the social hall are also handicap accessible.

What do you offer children?

Sunday School, Vacation Bible School and the teen youth ministries are cooperative programs with a coalition of churches in southwestern Carroll and western Howard Counties.

How do I become a member of the church?

If you are interested in becoming a member of the church, fill out the detachable form on the Sunday bulletin. Hand the form to the pastor or drop it in the offering plate. You will be contacted with more information.

Do I have to be baptized to join the church?

No, you do not have to be baptized to join the church.

How do I get involved?

Morgan Chapel has a number of opportunities available to get involved in the church. There is the annual Yard Sale, Food Pantry, Pet Food Pantry, Coffee Shop, just to mention a few. 

Can a visitor take communion?

Yes! We take communion on the 1st week of the month. We believe in open communion – that means that anyone who believes in Jesus Christ is welcome to take communion, whether they are a church member or not.

What kind of adult education/spiritual growth opportunities do you offer?

We have a Bible Study that meets every Thursday evening from 6:30 to 8:00 PM at Gail and Miles Smith’s home.
