This Week's Thoughts by Rev. Jim
Perhaps you have seen a WWJD (What Would Jesus Do) wrist band, but have you ever seen a WWJWD (What Would John Wesley Do) band? That was a suggestion following a discussion in one of our recent Membership Exploration classes.
We're just completing the second of these 5-week small groups and will start the third group by the end of the month.
Using Revival: Faith as Wesley Lived It by Adam Hamilton as a guide, the groups have discovered that aAlthough the founder of The United Methodist Church lived in the 1700's much of what he preached can be applied to our lives today.
Each Exploration Group learns about Wesley's faith and spirital passion, how the American Methodist church was organized and the church's position on social justice issues we face today. The groups also learn about the history of Morgan Chapel and the vision its leaders have for the future.
